The model depicts a detailed, cutaway view of the space station, divided into various sectors. Each sector allows builders to recreate famous scenes from the saga. Featured locations in the set include the hangar with a shuttle, Princess Leia’s detention cell, Emperor Palpatine’s throne room, the trash compactor, the tractor beam control panel, and more.

The new set will be available for purchase on October 4.

NEWSROOM IN notes that in March 2025, the company announced record revenue for 2024. LEGO earned $10.79 billion, a 13% increase from 2023, while net profit grew by 5.3% to $2 billion. Sales of building sets also increased by 12%.

Every second LEGO set released over the past five years is tied to a popular franchise. These aren’t just toys; they are miniature monuments to pop culture. Key drivers behind this trend include collaborations with legendary universes:

☛“Star Wars” and “Harry Potter” sets remain bestsellers, attracting both children and adult collectors.

☛The previous record holder for most expensive Star Wars-themed LEGO set was the “Millennium Falcon”, released in 2017. That set featured 7,400 pieces and currently retails for $850.

☛Partnerships with Marvel and Fortnite have expanded the audience. For instance, Fortnite-themed sets have bridged digital and physical worlds by offering in-game codes inside the boxes.

The three animated films in the LEGO franchise have collectively grossed over $1 billion at the box office. However, one of the most unexpected moves was a set based on Steven Spielberg’s iconic thriller “Jaws.” This box, containing 1,497 pieces, allows builders to construct the Orca boat, character minifigures, and, of course, a mechanical shark that “attacks” when the propeller is turned.

“Floral” sets have also become very popular, making excellent gifts for both adults and children.

Notably, LEGO is increasingly targeting adult consumers, with 30% of its buyers now over the age of 18.
