US President Donald Trump’s media company, Trump Media & Technology Group, plans to launch Truth Social paid access via a commercial service called Truth PSI, AP reports. The project involves high-speed delivery of posts from the social network’s top authors. Among them, the most followed is Donald Trump (12.9 million followers). His sons, Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump, rank second and third in reach.
The service is designed for Wall Street trading firms and large financial institutions. The platform plans to transmit exclusive data to subscribers milliseconds before it is displayed publicly, allowing traders to profit instantly from fluctuations in stock, bond, and interest rate markets.
How Truth Social Paid Access Works and Who Leads it
Structurally, the Truth PSI service will provide priority delivery of content from the platform’s most popular accounts. Paid subscribers will see posts from top users before other readers. While the subscription cost has not been disclosed, the company’s new CEO, Kevin McGurn, characterized the initiative as a strategy to monetize assets and expects it to become a significant, recurring source of revenue.
The Impact of Trump’s Posts on Global Markets
Recent months have shown that the president’s statements and policy decisions posted on Truth Social can instantly shift market trends. Trump actively uses the platform for announcements on national security and macroeconomics, including posts about the war with Iran, trade tariffs, and large-scale raids by US Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
His statements regarding the Middle East have a particularly strong impact on stock exchanges. Investors react rapidly to geopolitical risks, fearing that a spike in oil prices could fuel global inflation and force the US Federal Reserve to continue raising interest rates. Receiving this information milliseconds ahead of the market gives institutional players a massive arbitrage advantage.
Conflict of Interest Concerns
The announcement of Truth PSI has sparked another round of debate over ethical boundaries in US politics. While similar paid early-access mechanisms exist on other competing platforms, none of them have a major shareholder who is also the sitting US president. If Trump’s posts are included in the paid subscription tier, he would directly profit from selling early access to information about his own presidential decisions.
Nevertheless, US conflict-of-interest laws, which prohibit officials from profiting from access to their official actions, traditionally exempt the president and vice president.
