Cristiano Ronaldo & Matthew Vaughn Launch UR•Marv Studio to “Redefine Action Cinema”

In a groundbreaking crossover between sports and entertainment, football icon Cristiano Ronaldo and Kingsman director Matthew Vaughn have unveiled UR•Marv, an independent film studio promising to “merge cutting-edge technology with classic storytelling.” The venture has already completed two action films, with a third in development – all part of a connected series.

The studio’s manifesto challenges industry norms:

“No creative committees” – Decisions led solely by Vaughn and Ronaldo. Hybrid production – Combining Portugal’s tax incentives with UK studio facilities. Global appeal – Scripts tailored for Ronaldo’s 600M+ social media followers

“Cristiano’s pitch narratives inspire me more than any screenplay,” Vaughn told Merging Worlds Media, citing Ronaldo’s 2022 “solo run” World Cup goal as cinematic inspiration.

While plot details remain under wraps, insiders reveal:

➤ Project Phoenix (2025) – A Bourne-style thriller with meta-commentary on celebrity culture

➤ Untitled Vaughn/Ronaldo Collab – Described as “Kingsman meets Ted Lasso”

➤ VR Spin-off – Interactive fight sequences leveraging Ronaldo’s motion-capture experience

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner has strategically diversified:

➤ 2023: Acquired 22% stake in Medialivre (Portugal’s top media group)

➤ 2024: Launched UR Cristiano YouTube channel (12M subs in 60 days)

➤ 2025: UR•Marv positions him as first athlete-producer with greenlight authority

“I want to tell stories that hit as hard as my free kicks,” Ronaldo remarked at the Lisbon announcement.

Fresh off Argylle’s mixed reception, the director sees UR•Marv as his creative reset: Marv Productions will handle physical effects.

Two new Kingsman films remain with Fox.
