U.S. President Donald Trump has announced a new increase in Trump tariffs on all imports, raising the rate from 10% to 15%.
“Based on a thorough, detailed, and comprehensive analysis of the absurd, poorly drafted, and highly anti-American U.S. Supreme Court decision on Tariffs, handed down yesterday after MANY months of deliberation, please accept this statement as confirmation that I, as President of the United States of America, am immediately increasing the 10% Global Tariff on countries, many of whom have been ‘ripping off’ the U.S. for decades with impunity (until I came along!), to the fully authorized and legally sound level of 15%. Over the next few months, the Trump Administration will identify and implement new, legally permissible Tariffs that will continue our highly successful process of ‘Making America Great Again’ — GREATER THAN EVER BEFORE!!!” the President wrote on Truth Social.

Within hours of the verdict, Trump convened an emergency press conference to announce a new executive order applying a 10% global surcharge, this time citing Section 122 of the Trade Act of 1974. This provision allows the president to impose Trump tariffs of up to 15% for a period of up to 150 days without congressional approval. Effectively, Trump has identified a legal loophole to immediately restore trade barriers.
