Denmark’s Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen has taken an unconventional step in his fight against internet trolling: he invited his online haters to a personal meeting in central Copenhagen.
According to DPA, about two weeks ago, Rasmussen — one of Denmark’s most prominent politicians, a former head of government, and leader of the Moderate Party — created a special Facebook group for his detractors titled “All of us who hate Lars Løkke” (Alle os der hader Lars Løkke).

He then extended an unusual invitation to the approximately 440 members of the group: “I have found a room and set a table. This means you can come and tell me why you hate me. I promise to listen. Let’s see if a divergence of opinions can turn into a dialogue.”
The meeting is scheduled for Saturday evening. Rasmussen, whose Moderate Party was founded in 2022 and will participate in local elections for the first time on November 18, is using this initiative to demonstrate openness, despite his party’s modest approval ratings.
