Milan 2026 Condoms: Shortage Hits Olympic Village

Milan 2026 condoms shortage at the Olympic Village

Athletes seeking Milan 2026 condoms at the 2026 Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics have exhausted the entire supply of 10,000 free items in just the first three days of competition. According to the newspaper La Stampa, organizers are facing a sudden shortage despite strict rules governing social conduct in the Olympic Village. Athletes are currently prohibited from entering the bedrooms of other national teams, and dimming lights or playing relaxing music in common areas is strictly forbidden. Media reports suggest that due to these restrictions, competitors have been forced to use meditation corners for their meetings.

Italian journalists have highlighted the unusually high demand for protection among the athletes. To put the figures in perspective, competitors at the Paris Summer Olympics were provided with 30 times more items than those currently available in Milan.

Games organizers have already promised to deliver a supplementary shipment. however, the exact timeframe for replenishing the stock in the Olympic Village has not yet been confirmed.

The distribution of free protection in Olympic Villages has been a mandatory standard for 38 years. The tradition began in South Korea and has been maintained at every Games since as part of a global health program and a safety awareness initiative.
