Rapper Snoop Dogg has been named an NBC correspondent for the 2026 Winter Olympics, which will take place in Italy (Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo). His participation in the broadcasts is a key element of NBC’s new strategy to attract audiences.

Snoop Dogg first appeared on Olympic screens in 2021, commenting on the Tokyo Games alongside comedian Kevin Hart. Their informal style and genuine emotions quickly made the broadcasts popular. This success was repeated in 2024 for the Paris Games, where Snoop became a standalone star of the coverage.

According to The Independent, NBCUniversal will expand his role this time. Snoop Dogg will not only comment on events but also serve as an on-the-ground correspondent. He will interact with athletes, their families, and fans, offering a glimpse into the behind-the-scenes life of the Olympics and conveying the festive atmosphere.

The artist himself shared his plans: “I’m excited to be back with my main man Mike Tirico. This time, I want to get closer to the athletes and their families, sharing their emotions and the joy of victory.”

NBC management notes that partnering with Snoop Dogg has helped make the broadcasts more accessible to a wider audience, especially younger viewers. His humor and charisma infuse the coverage with elements of pop culture, making sports content more appealing.

The rapper’s involvement has transformed him into a true “brand ambassador” for the Olympic Games in the U.S. NBC anticipates that his presence at the 2026 Winter Olympics will help draw new audiences to sporting events and strengthen the connection between traditional sports and modern culture.

The Winter Olympic Games will take place in Italy from February 6 to 22, 2026.
