Renowned mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter Conor McGregor has announced his intention to run for President of Ireland. In a video message recorded outside the government building in Dublin, he urged his supporters to back his campaign, as reported by The Irish Times.
Conor McGregor’s Government Criticism and Ireland’s Challenges
During his address, McGregor sharply criticized current Members of Parliament, accusing them of “constantly failing the people.” He particularly highlighted issues that he believes require immediate attention:
☛ Child Homelessness Crisis: McGregor stated that the number of homeless children has reached unprecedented levels, which he claims contradicts Irish values.
☛ Migration Policy: He labeled the government’s migration policy “incompetent,” asserting that it threatens future generations and that mass migration exacerbates problems within an “already fractured system.”
☛ Security and Tourism: The fighter also pointed to a sharp decline in tourism and a rise in street crime.
McGregor’s announcement quickly garnered support from billionaire Elon Musk, who commented: “No one will fight for the Irish people as hard as Conor McGregor!”
